Oakland Better Birth Foundation was founded by Doula, Community Activist ,Mother, Grandmother and Author Samsarah Morgan.
It was birthed our of her work in the community and is a daughter of Occupy Oakland Children’s Village , Occupy Decolonize Pregnancy Birth and Parenting Caucus of the Occupy Oakland, and The Parents and Allies Committee of Children’s Village.
Our focus it to provide services to the Oakland East Bat Community services and opportunities which will reduce the infant and maternal mortality rates in our community!
We hold as precious the right of woman to birth with the provider of her choice, be that in a hospital or birthing center or at home!
We also wish to provided training and to find those who wish to be trained as traditional birthworkers, as well as to assist financially families desire to contribute to a living wage for birthworkers…
